Usborne Books and More Consultants help get great books into the hands of kids by coordinating a variety of programs including: in home reading workshops for families, school and library services, book fairs, 50% matching grant program (Literacy for a Lifetime) and reading incentive programs (Reach for the Stars). 
We also have a unique Cards for a Cause fundraising program as well.
Commission Structure
We earn 15 – 30% commission, depending on the type of sale (see below),
plus sales bonus & recruiting bonus,
then as a Team Leader, an additional override on group sales volume.
The company covers the cost of free Usborne and Kane/Miller Books to the hostesses and organizations.
Type of Sale and Commission Earned
- Reading Workshop – 25%, with sales of $85 +, plus free books for host
- Direct Sale – 30% with sales of $85 +, 15% with sales of $25 – $84.99
- Web Sales & E-shows* – 25% for $85+ orders, and eShow orders of any size, plus free books for customer or e-show hostess, 15% for $0-$84.99
- Book Fairs and Reach for the Stars – 20% of retail sales ordered $200-$499, plus 25% free books to school or organization, 17% of sales $500 and up, plus 50% free books to school or organization
- Literacy for a Lifetime (matching grant program) – 17%, plus 50% free books to school or organization with matching grant program
- E-Fairs* – 17%, plus free books to school or organization
- School and Library Sales – 25% with minimum sales of $25 (must be a certified Educational Consultant to work this market**)
Personal Sales Bonus
We are eligible for a monthly Personal Sales Bonus on Home Shows, Direct Sales, Web Sales, and School & Library sales
- Earn 5% when these sales are over $750 net that month
- Earn 3% when these sales are $350 to $699.99 net in a given month
Recruiting Bonus
- Earn 4% Recruiting Bonus on all sales of your personally sponsored team members in each month your personal sales are at least $350 net, as a Consultant while you are building your team.
- When you promote to Team Leader, you will earn even MORE! (see below for Leader promotion and earning details)

During your first 12 weeks, you may give DOUBLE FREE BOOKS (merchandise allowance) to up to 20 hostesses with home show orders of $250+ and at least one booking. It is okay to be your own hostess, too, getting the consultant commission AND the hostess benefits.

Express Success Promotion - Promote to Team Leader during your Incentive Period (by the 1st of the month following your incentive date) and receive $300 in free books of your choice PLUS $200 cash!
Plus you’ll get recognition at Convention along with automatic membership in the prestigious President’s Club, and all benefits of being “in the club.”
What’s required to Promote to Team Leader?
- You need to have sponsored three Success Bound Consultants* on your team
- For two consecutive months you need $750 in personal net sales
- For two consecutive months your team needs $2000 in net sales (includes your 750)
What do I earn when I promote to Team Leader?
- $100 Cash
- 1000 points for the current travel contest
- an 11% override on your group’s net sales (including your personal sales) each month going forward!
Stay ON TRACK Leader – Maintain $2000 net in group sales and $750 net in personal sales for each of your first three months as Team Leader & have sponsored 5 personal Success Bound recruits by the end of your 3rd month as a Leader and earn an additional $500 cash bonus!
** NET sales = retail sales minus commission ($400 sales minus $100 commission = $300 “net” sales)

To Make Career Level Income – Promote to Team Leader – Here’s How…
To promote to Leader you need:
- 3 personal Success Bound team members (bronze = $750 net sales during their 12 wk incentive period)
- 3 active team members (may be same as the bronze, $350 net sales w/in previous 3 months)
- $2000 net group sales (includes your personal sales) for the 2 consecutive months prior to promotion
- $750 personal net sales for the same 2 consecutive months
- Submit Leader/Supervisor Application to the Home Office by the 15th of the month prior to promotion
Additional Leader Earnings (in addition to commissions noted above)
Sales Bonus – 5% Sales Bonus on home show, direct sales, school & library sales, and web orders each month these sales are at least $700 net.
Recruiting Bonus – 2% Recruiting Bonus on the total net sales of your personally sponsored team members during all months your sales are at least $350 net.
AND OVERRIDES…
Central Group - 11% override for central group on all Home Shows, Direct Sales, Web Sales, and School & Library sales, including your own. 5.5% override on Book Fair sales, Reach for the Stars & Literacy for a Lifetime. This includes all your personally sponsored team members and their recruits and their recruits and so on, excluding those who promote out of your central group.
1st Level Breakaway groups - 7% override on all Home Shows, Direct Sales, Web Sales, and School & Library sales. 3.5% override on Book Fair sales, Reach for the Stars & Literacy for a Lifetime. When someone in your central group promotes to Leader, then they and their entire group are now your first level. You can have an unlimited number of first level groups.
2nd Level Breakaway groups - 5% override on all Home Shows, Direct Sales, Web Sales, and School & Library sales. 2.5% override on Book Fair sales, Reach for the Stars & Literacy for a Lifetime. When someone in your first level breakaway promotes to Leader, then they and their entire group are now your second level. You can have an unlimited number of second level groups.
3rd Level Breakaway groups - If you have at least three 1st level supervisors and one 3rd level supervisor, then you are an Executive Team Leader and are eligible for override on your 3rd level groups during any month that your executive group sells $25,000 net 1% override on all Home Shows, Direct Sales, Web Sales, and School & Library sales. .5% override on Book Fair sales, Reach for the Stars & Literacy for a Lifetime. When someone in your second level promotes to Leader, then they and their entire group are now your third level. You can have an unlimited number of third level groups.
NOTE: You can have unlimited number of 4th level and beyond. You do not earn income from their sales, however they add stability to your group and so are an important part of a healthy growing team for your future financial security.
